ConfigZone is a series of web pages showing all the important configuration information for all type of AIX servers.
These pages basically form a ‘living build document’ for the AIX servers and also a snapshot of other useful information such as SAN disk allocation and pSeries Managed Server hardware and fully support Virtualised environments .
The ConfigZone website is powered by PHP and MYSQL database and all the data is gathered from the servers at regular intervals so that they are always kept up to date with the current server configuration. So if a new filesystem or Virtual Disk device is added to an LPAR it is on ConfigZone within a few minutes.
ConfigZone can reside on an AIX partition, on a Windows server or a Linux server. Because it uses open source software it will support all these platforms.
ConfigZone is extremely useful in server rebuilds or Disaster Recovery scenarios and can even be used to help achieve certain auditing requirements.
ConfigZone can also keep historical data so reports can be produced showing how Servers have changed over a certain period.
Administrators shouldn’t have to waste time inputting system configurations into a spreadsheet or a configuration database that is soon out of date.
